The 46,000 acres of public lands which are available for fishing and hunting equal about 7% of the state’s total land area. Hunting opportunities include white-tailed deer, wild turkey, ruffed grouse, woodcock, pheasant, dove, waterfowl and small game. Additionally, Rhode Island ‘s license fees are a terrific bargain for both resident and nonresident hunters alike.
